Three Kings Players from the 2008 roster have been selected to participate in the prestigious 3rd Annual USL Men’s Player Showcase in Charleston, South Carolina, Sunday, December 14th through Tuesday, December 16th. Midfielders Adam Ross and Dustin Downey and defender Tony Ray were all first year starters for the Kings PDL team.
"Having these three selected out of only 90 players worldwide is a testament to the quality of our Kings organization, our coaching staff, players and to the high esteem our franchise is held within the rest of the league,” said Kings Head Coach, Roby Stahl. “We aim to be the model PDL organization in all aspects and this is an example of early success. I am particular proud of Adam Ross as I have been coaching him in club soccer since the age of 15. The plan for the Kings growth is to be able to identify at least 6 players each year out of the KSA U18 crop that can eventually become key players for our club. The plan from the beginning has been to promote from within as a reward for those players coming through our ranks!"
Last season the USL Men’s Player Showcase provided an affordable platform for 90 elite prospects to display their abilities to a number of top clubs around the world. With numerous players landing professional contracts in Major League Soccer, the USL First Division, the USL Second Division and with international clubs, the USL Men’s Player Showcase has become a critical component of the PDL and the player development structure within USL.
