The Cincinnati Kings tied the Cleveland Internationals last night in PDL action in Cleveland 0-0 in a lightning delayed game. Both teams played a nice attacking style and had several chances to score turn away by the respective goalkeepers. The Internationals had a chance to win in the 88th minute but a great defensive effort by Justin Jenkins and a goal line clearance by Aaron McKenna saved the day.
Coach Stahl's comments:
This is a good result as last year we lost to Cleveland 3-0 and 5-1. We had several chances to score but it is hard with the caliber of defenders in this league. Our defense is becoming a very solid unit and the midfielder's are starting to mature within our style of play. We do need to show a bit more patience in the attacking third and I think the goals will come.
We were in the midst of a hard road trip and came away 1-1-2 after four games. Anytime we can get a win and two ties away that is the mark of a team getting better. I still am convinced we should have won all four games especially on the Canada trip.
Next game:
Saturday night we play the Bucks at 7:30 PM at town and Country. The Bucks are one of the top franchises in the league and defeated us 3-0 a month ago in Michigan. This will be a good test to see how far we have come!
