Jon was instrumental in the formation of the Kings Soccer Academy and brings a wealth of experience to the program. Jon has spent the last 17 years playing professionally around the world in England, Northern Ireland, China and the US. In 2004 Jon was named the Head Coach of the Cincinnati Kings Men’s Professional team, capping off a great season in 2006 when he was named USL’s Head Coach of the Year. Since moving to Cincinnati in 1998 Jon has been very active within the coaching community, having assisted the Men’s Soccer Program at the University of Cincinnati along with holding the position of Director of Coaching within the Classics Hammer program. Jon’s most recent role has been as Director of Coaching for the Cardinal Soccer club.
Meridy Glenn

Meridy joins the Kings Soccer Academy after spending the last 25 years as the Head Coach of the Women’s Soccer team at the University of Cincinnati. Meridy was instrumental in the development of the program and was named Coach of the Year in 2002 with a record of 17-4-3. Her student-athletes over the last 25 years have also excelled with eight players earning NSCAA Scholar-Athlete All-America honors, while nine others have won the prestigious Helen Norman Smith Award, given annually to the top graduating Cincinnati female student-athlete. Meridy’s team also earned the NSCAA Team Academic Award for a team GPA over 3.0 in 2001, 2002 and 2005. Within the KSA structure Meridy will provide our players the best opportunity to excel in college, and will bring a unique position to the club not offered at any other club.
Neil Oughton
Associate Director of Coaching: U15 – U18 Boys and Girls

Neil brings over 15 years of coaching experience to the Kings Soccer Academy. Having coached in Colorado for the Colorado Storm and Denver Soccer Clubs throughout the nineties, Neil won numerous State and Regional Championships with both clubs. Neil has also served as the Head Coach at the University of Northumbria before becoming the Assistant Men’s Coach at the Johnson and Wales College in Denver between 1995– 2004.
Neil is planning on taking his NSCAA Advanced Diploma in July of 08.
Jeff Timmers
Associate Director of Coaching: U11 – U14 Boys
USSF C license
Jeff has an outstanding background in both soccer and education. Since 1993 Jeff has been involved with many of the top level clubs in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. With a Masters in Physical Education Jeff has the perfect combination when dealing with young athletes. Over the past several years Jeff has coached within ODP at the State and Regional levels, both in Ohio South and Kentucky Youth Associations. Jeff has recently returned from taking his UEFA B license in Scotland and continues to seek further education in the game.
Jeff is planning on taking his USSF B license in July of 08.
Paulette Rumpke
Associate Director of Coaching: U11 – U14 Girls

Paulette is recognized as being one of the best female athletes to ever come out of Cincinnati. In 1999 she won a National Championship as a youth player and was named Most Valuable Player. Formally coached by Meridy Glenn, Paulette was recently inducted in the University of Cincinnati’s Hall of Fame for her outstanding achievements as a player. Paulette also played at a professional level for the Columbus Ziggs and the TC Stars of the W-league between; 1994–2005.
Paulette is planning on taking her USSF A license in July of 08.
Greg Bowman
Associate Director of Coaching: U9 – U10 Boys and Girls

NSCAA Advanced National Diploma
Greg has spent most of his coaching career at the collegiate level. He started his career back in 1997 as the Assistant Men’s Coach at Wheaton College before moving to the University of Cincinnati in 1999, transitioning into the Head Coaching role in 2001.Greg also played professionally in Latin America and is a current player on the Cincinnati Excite Indoor team.
Greg is planning on taking his USSF A license in July of 08.
Craig Salvati
Director of Coaching: Goalkeeping Academy U8 – USL Boys and Girls
Craig is a graduate of Lakota High School, playing in every minute of his 4 year, 81 game High School career. In his senior year he was named Cincinnati Player of the Year. With an outstanding High School career behind him he went on to play for the University of Maryland, winning a National Championship in 2005. Craig also turned professional in 2007 with the Cincinnati Kings. Without doubt, Craig brings a new level of expectation to our Goalkeeping Academy.
John Vallandingham

John brings over 15 years of coaching experience to the Kings Soccer Academy. He has coached at just about every level there is in the Greater Cincinnati Area, as well a staff coach for both Ohio ODP and Kentucky ODP. The KSA is extremely excited to have John’s passion, energy and knowledge working with our recreational program.
